In Memory of Ronald Pine

Name: Ronald Pine
Spouse: Hwa Yeop Kim
Children: Youn-Ah, Youn-Jee, Youn-Soo, Youn-Mi
Birth Date: October 17, 1949
Ascension Date: April 21, 2019

Ronald “Ron” Pine ascended to the Spirit World on April 21, 2019 (Easter Sunday). He was born in Stockton, California, as the youngest of three children to Leslie and Nettie “Marie” Pine.

During Ron’s early childhood, his mother received a spiritual experience of an Asian man appearing before her, wearing a long white robe and sweating blood. She saw herself wrapped in chains that later broke off, freeing her from bondage. The spirit pointed to her and said to keep her family together and take care of her youngest child. Many years later, she revealed this experience to Ron after seeing a photo of Reverend Moon stating that the spirit who appeared to her in 1954 was the same as the man in the picture.

Ron led a colorful youth riding motorcycles with the Hell’s Angels, hitching a ride with wanted criminals from Canada, brushed with near-death experiences (once for being suspected as an undercover FBI agent), and proclaiming to his father, at age 14, that he would one day meet the Messiah in his lifetime.

Ron felt drawn to leave Stockton and live in the Bay Area. He joined the Unification Church in Berkeley, California in late 1969 after being witnessed to by his spiritual mother on the UC Berkeley campus.

In 1982, Ron received an unprecedented Marriage Blessing with Hwa Yeop Kim, a Korean member with 777 Blessing status; inheriting a 9-year old daughter (Youn-Ah Kim) from her first Blessing. Together Ron and Hwa Yeop raised their daughters: Youn-Jee Pamela, Youn-Soo Marie, and Youn-Mi Katherine Pine.

As a descendant of strong religious Christian missionaries and Cherokee Native Americans, Ron embodied a fiery passion to witness to anyone and everyone, from the ‘average Joe’ down the street to congressmen to Islamic leaders. He was especially driven to bring ‘Indian Country’ to True Parents and God. With his wife’s support and unity, Ron brought the first 3 Oglala Lakota Sioux couples (plus 40) from the Pine Ridge Indian reservation to receive the Marriage Blessing.

Despite difficulties and an imperfect character, Ron Pine led a life of absolute devotion and dedication to True Parents and God’s Providence.
