Please pray for State Leader of Maryland and Pastor of Baltimore Family Church, Pastor James Stewart.
After doing well with Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments for Cancer of the Esophagus, Pastor Stewart had a 12-hour operation, an Esophagectomy, that began at 7:30 AM on June 1, 2020.
In order to eliminate any residual cancerous tissue, his surgeon will remove the lower portion of his esophagus and the upper 1/3 of his stomach and, using other tissue, will reconstruct those areas.
Please pray for Dr. Ziv Gamliel, Chief of Thoracic Surgery at MedStar Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, as well as the anesthesiologist and the whole team. Patients usually stay in the hospital for about two weeks afterward and then need additional recovery time at home.
