On Saturday, February 24, Family Church of South Florida heled a Matching Preparation Seminar to introduce the matching process for families, as well as new members of the Unification Movement. Parents and their young adult children participated ranging in age from 17 to late 20s. Techniques for preparing for the matching process for singles and for parents, as well as spiritual parents, were introduced and discussed, and the information was well received. The key matching resource mentioned was the Blessing and Family Ministry website, and many members were pleased to be aware of the vast amount of resources that are available there.
The highlight of the event was a testimony by Joe and Kesha who told of the challenges that they had faced in previous Blessings, and how they subsequently met and went through the process leading up to their relationship. Some very valuable insights and suggestions for parents and candidates based on their experiences were well received by the entire audience.
On Sunday, after an excellent Sunday Service by Co-Pastor Joe Young, John and Helen Abelseth hosted a Matching Supporter Training seminar and several couples and parents, as well as Pastor Keisha Greene, received this valuable training. Several more members participated out of interest, including two young Unificationists. Once again the Blessing and Family Ministry website was introduced as a key resource.
Co-Pastors Keisha Greene and Joe Young, and veteran Matching Supporter and BFM Coordinator Tomio Miyazaki did a wonderful job of organizing and preparing along with support from members of the community who prepared an excellent lunch.
