In Memory of Yukiko Washino

Name: Yukiko Washino
Spouse: Kinya Washino
Children: Akira, Fumiyoshi
Birth Date: January 13, 1956
Blessing Date: April 7, 1989
Ascension Date: April 2, 2020

Our dear sister, Yukiko Washino, ascended on April 2, 2020 at 7:00 AM.

Yukiko started feeling unwell on March 31, 2020, before finally feeling better two days later. On Thursday, April 2, she woke up at 6:30 AM to prepare breakfast. At 6:40 AM her husband spoke to her briefly and left the kitchen. When he returned at 7:00 AM, her husband found Yukiko unresponsive on the floor, at which point her son called 911. The paramedics were unable to resuscitate Yukiko despite arriving promptly at her home. Due to the sudden death circumstances, the medical examiner was required to test to ascertain the cause of death, therefore her funeral service has been delayed.

Yukiko Washino is survived by her husband, two sons, and a sister. Her elder sister, Keiko Kimura, was Blessed during the 1800 Couples Blessing in 1975. Her elder brother Seiichi Asada passed away three months ago.

Yukiko was born on January 13, 1956 in Yamaguchi, the third child of the Asada Family. Her father’s job in an elementary school took Yukiko and his family to Tokyo. Making Tokyo her home, Yukiko attended high school and college there. In 1975, she was witnessed to by her elder sister, and she joined the Japanese Korean Folk Ballet. As a performer, she traveled throughout Japan for the Day of Hope Campaign. Then in 1976, she came to the USA for the Washington Monument Rally.

Yukiko was Blessed in marriage in the 138 Couples Blessing in NYC in April 1989 with Kinya Washino.

She and her husband attended the third Jardin 40-day workshop in 1998.

Yukiko had the honor of serving True Parent during their tour in New York and New Jersey. She also served True Mother during her visit to the USA in 2013 at Manhattan Center.

Over the past 20 years, Yukiko has been very active with Kodan, while always supporting her husband’s mission at HSA Video Duplication Company (Future Productions in 1985-2004) and HSA True Parents’ Digital Archive contract company (Multi-Format 2005-2020) in the accounting department, under the direction of our True Parents.

Yukiko and her husband have two sons, Akira Washino in Japan and Fumiyoshi Washino in the USA.

We are so sorry to hear Yuriko-san passed so suddenly. Yuriko-san was a beautiful member of our Korean Folk Ballet team in Japan and in the USA. I was her teacher and team leader. We pray for her victorious ascension and for her family.

I made an incorrect spelling of Yukik0-san’s name. Also, please correct the In Memoriam title page which gives her name as Yuriko, not Yukiko. Thanks.

I am so sad to hear she passed away so very suddenly. I know family members would have liked to share with her some final words. But as we have entered this new era, I know she will be just a thought away, dear fanily. She will be as close and closer, as much as you want, than even or ever before. We send our prayers for your continuing developing relationship and for Heaven’s comfort and your strength. May God’s embrace be ever present and sufficient for the day. May your season of tears be ones of joy too. Our heartfelt condolences go out to you. Much love, the Nishios
