Following is a testimony by Stephen's Mother, Sandy Bokor.

Stephen Li Aaron Bokor was born in Kodiak, Alaska on June 12, 1988. The family continued living there until coming to Astoria, Oregon in 1992. Stephen was a happy child, full of energy, and had a strong circle of good friends.

His passion was sports, especially football, basketball, and track. He kept active in those throughout his school years and won many awards. He was a very loving, giving, and passionate person. He touched the hearts of all who met him. He was very much into health and fitness. He took good care of himself and always tried to help his family get healthier.

He loved life, loved people, loved his family, country, and the world. He loved traveling and had been many places, including Korea, to attend the World Culture and Sports Festival about ten years ago. He was also a very skilled poker player, spending much of his 20s succeeding at that. Poker was one of his passions. He traveled a lot, participating in many tournaments, following his dream of someday winning a million so he could buy his parents their dream home by the ocean. He was an amazing chainsaw artist, creating many beautiful animals out of logs. He worked really hard at it and loved what he did.

He cared deeply for his brothers and sister and always took time to help them through their struggles. He was also a wonderful uncle to his nephew, Oliver. He always greeted him with a hug and a huge smile. He took the time to talk with him, play with him, and laugh with him.

He leaves behind his father and mother, Zola and Sandy Bokor; a brother and sister-in-law, Konlim and Naomi Bokor; a sister and brother-in-law, Jinju and Daniel Brooks; a nephew, Oliver Brooks, a brother, Christopher Bokor; and a brother, Zoltan Bokor; plus many more relatives and too many friends to count.

Dearest Stephen, we love you; not a day will pass that we don’t think of you. We will carry your memories and good times in our hearts always.

Zola, I’m so very very sorry to hear of Stephen’s passing. I love you, and consequently your family, from our Ocean Church work together such a long time ago. May Stephen contribute in the spirit world to the building of a world of peace even far more than he could ever have done here on earth. I wish many many blessings for him and you and your family now and in the future.

Dear Sandy and Zola, I worked with Zola in the mid- seventies. I was very inspired by his passion to end communism. What a beautiful son God blessed you with! His precious heart of filial piety (wanting to build his parents’ their dream home)- surely he will be working with True Father to help build God’s dream home while continuing to support you and his siblings and nieces and nephews from the SW. My husband passed away 8 years ago and he has visited us in our own dreams and friends’ dreams also. I pray that Stephen will be working side by side with Heung Jin Nim and Hyo Jin Nim and continue to make you both very very proud. Much love and prayers to you from the Williams family

I am so so deeply saddened as I just heard that Stephen passed away. Stephen was my best man at my wedding to my wife Sharli here on the beach in Seaside Oregon in May of 2016. I felt an instant friendship when I first met Stephen as I know many people have as he was one of the most likeable guys you would ever meet. I’m still in disbelief and hurt as I’m sure all that knew him feels the deepest loss of such a loving soul. I kept in touch with Stephen even when I haven’t heard from him in a while and often wanted to call to see how he was doing but this time I missed him thoughts go through my mind if only I was able to talk to him. I tried to lead him to join the Carpenters Union and try a different trade as he considered that as a good opportunity but the fact of traveling to Portland may have hindered that possibility. I know Stephen enjoyed gambling but knowing others that was in that field and the stress that it puts on them as at times they would stay up pushing themselves past the point of exhaustion and passing out while still holding the cards in their hands. Steven had so many talents and so much to live for I wonder sometimes why the best ones go so early but with a strong faith in Christ I know that he would be most welcomed in heaven and freed from any of the pain and tribulations most of us go through on Earth until that time we enter the heavens. Thank you for being my friend Steven you will be greatly missed and I know your family misses you terribly as you have talked about them often and what amazing people they are. You have been a blessing to so many and may we all keep a piece of you alive and reflections of the kind person you were. God bless you Stephen Bokor someday we will meet again.
