In Memory of Sachiko Cowan

Name: Sachiko Cowan
Spouse: Matthew Cowan
Children: Iona
Birth Date: September 1, 1959
Blessing Date: October 14, 1982
Ascension Date: April 22, 2020

Born September 1, 1959 in Tokyo, Japan and raised in Chiba, Japan, Sachiko met the Unification Movement when she was 18 years old. She dedicated her life to God and True Parents and maintained her commitment of service to providential missions for over 40 years. On April 22, 2020, she succumbed to the effects of cancer after a relatively short hospitalization.

Sachiko was matched and Blessed with Matthew Quentin Cowan, originally from England, in the 6000 Couples Blessing in Seoul, Korea. Their love and life together produced a lovely, brilliant daughter in 1990 named Iona who now resides in Columbus, Ohio. Matthew was instrumental in the art businesses in America before ascending due to health issues in 1992.

Life was a “mission” for Sachiko. She could be classified as a minimalist, always ready for the next move to where Heavenly Parent and True Parents needed her most. She served in various states in America, Europe, Israel, Africa, particularly in Mali, and for a short time in Azerbaijan. In 1995, Sachiko and Iona relocated to Columbus, Ohio making the community their home.

It was Sachiko’s final wishes to her daughter, Iona, to be cremated and her ashes buried together in her husband’s final resting place in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Tarrytown, New York. May she have a joyful ascension and reunion with her beloved husband. May their love shine through their cherished daughter, Iona. May God and True Parents bless this Blessed Central Family eternally.

Ikna, I am sorry for your loss. I didn’t have the chance to work with your mom or dad but they sound amazing.

    Hello Iona,

I still remember clearly the time three of you together living in New Jersey. I used to work with your father in Houston, too. Your family is so beautiful! Your father also helped my husband’s work to promote in the USA and Japan. We miss your patents and sending condolences to you. May God filled His and Her love with you and your family.

Sachiko Cowan, You are of the Eve nation that went through so much that immortalizes your heart to be celebrated by posterity. I want to plant my own grateful kiss, also from the Adam nation, upon your lovely cheek right now …

Hi Iona, I worked with your dad actually and did not know your mum so much. Anyway I wish you all the best in starting your new chapter in life with the knowledge that both your parents were such wonderful people devoted to God and TPs.
