Rosa passed away in the early morning of Monday, March 9 at home by a heart attack.
She was born in Bogota Columbia, South America on August 23, 1942. She has one sister, but they were separated at an early age.
After Rosa came to the United States, she went through many difficulties, but God gave her a daughter, Elaine. While she was raising Elaine by herself, she met Mrs. Sandra Felberbauer, her spiritual mother, and joined the Unification Movement in 1981. With her daughter, Rosa went to the New Jersey church every day, did witnessing activities, fundraising, and served the members in the kitchen.
In 1999, she moved to the Philadelphia church and lived there until she moved to Florida to join Elaine’s family in 2012. She was always happy, healthy and worked hard to serve the members joyfully even though she sometimes had little arguments because of her stubborn nature. But that was Rosa’s nature. After her daughter Elaine graduated from high school and left home, she lived alone. Therefore, she felt all the members were her family.
Her love for True Parents was strong. In Florida, her life became prayer and Hoon Dok Hwe. A few years ago, her family moved to South Carolina, where she began attending the Columbia Family Church. She enjoyed in watching the weekly update and participating in ACLC Prayer Breakfasts. She also helped with cooking, washing dishes, etc. She was also a prayer warrior, and whenever she made some money, she saved it to give to True Mother. Her life was truly the life of a missionary, which is exactly the life she wanted. It was good that she spent time together with her family at the final stage of her life. She will be missed and remembered by many of us.
Rosa is survived by Elaine (daughter), John (son in law), and Dylan (grandson).

Rosa was a deep hearted person who always seeked truth and honesty through serving, that I call a “Saint.” The world needs more people with a moral compass like her. I remember her in Elizabeth, New Jersey during the early years when her daughter was just a little kid. A single parent trying to make a noble difference.

Dearest Rosa was kind and humble but strong in her love for God. She especially loved others and never spoke I’ll of anyone. Met her in Brooklyn NY when she first met the movement and was touched by her desire to give what little she had. Elaine was just a girl of 7 or 8 and Rosa her to have a blessed life so she worked hard to set an example. I will always remember Rosa with loving thoughts.

Rosa took care of Levi when he was six months old to a year, in the Newark New Jersey center, so I could go out witnessing and fundraising. We loved her and Elaine, and Levi still remembers her.

I joined New Jersey centre in 1978 and Rosa and her young daughter Elaine were witnessed to and joined shortly after. She was such a beautiful and humble and hard working person and integral part of our very close NJ family in those early days. As I have been in Australia for over 30 years I lost touch with her. there is always sadness upon suddenly learning of a loved one’s departure. and so I feel that inevitable sadness on learning of Rosa’s ascension. But our Ross family joins the chorus of all who now pray, cheer and celebrate Rosa as she makes her journey. Our condolences to you, Elaine, and to your family. We simply loved Rosa for the unique and wonderful person she was and evermore will be. In her modest and unassuming manner, she was a fearless spiritual warrior, self-motivated and uninhibited in her readiness to witness for God and True Parents.
