Roger Alan Wise was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina on November 7, 1949. He, along with his five brothers and one sister, were raised by his mother, Edna Beck Wise. After graduating from high school, Roger enlisted in the United States Navy. He served the country as a Propulsion and Engineering Mechanic on the USS HOLLAND (AS-32) from December 16, 1968 until he was honorably discharged on October 13, 1974.
Roger joined the Unification Movement in the 80s, where he met and married Hiromi Takeda, a sister from Tokyo, Japan. They were married on July 1, 1982 in the 2,075 Couple Blessing Ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Roger and his wife eventually settled in Denver, Colorado. Ever the entrepreneur, he founded his own business, A Wise Move Inc., in 1983, the same year his first child, Tomeo, was born. Roger and Hiromi would go on to have two more children, Tamar, born in 1984, and Tarina, born in 1989.
Roger’s company, A Wise Move, served the state of Colorado for over three decades, until his eventual retirement. Roger was well liked and generous; he loved to see people smile and helped them along their journey to happiness in any way he could. Optimistic, humble, and forward-thinking, Roger was a significant force in the lives of many. He was always the first to forgive and tried to lead by example.
Roger passed in his sleep due to natural causes on Dec 16, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Hiromi, his three children, Tomeo, Tamar, and Tarina, his grandson Koa, his sister, Vicky, and his mother, Edna. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Wow, Roger was a real brother. I am so shocked that he has left us. I wish I could be at the Seong Hwa, but it is simply not feasible for me to travel to Denver right now.
Roger was such a friendly and warmhearted man. He always treated me like I was his very best friend.
I remember one time we went out to Denver for a visit and he and Hiromi had prepared our hotel room with all sorts of food and flowers. My wife and I were so touched.
Roger must have worked so hard to build his successful moving company. He seemed to be deeply dedicated to the well-being of his family.
Good bye Roger. We are proud to know you. We can look forward to meeting you soon in the beautiful place where your are going.

Hitomi and family, we are in shock, Larry and I just talked to Roger last week. We found out tonight about the Seung Hwa and all we can do is pray. We send all our love to you and the family. Our hearts are broken.

I had a chance to get to know Roger over the past couple of years since moving to Colorado and I’m better for it. He was as generous, genuine, kind and loving a man as you’d ever want to meet in this life. He had very humble (read that dirt-poor) start in life but was proud of his mother and his 6 siblings. He served his country, his family and True Parents with the heart of a patriot and a filial son. But as he told me more than once, his greatest treasure was his wife Hiromi and his children of whom he was so proud. I’m happy for him that he was able to play with his grandson Koa before this next part of his journey.

Loved working with Roger in the early 80’s Seattle Family, MFT Product production in our makeshift “factory” at the Windermere property, (in the basement) making Butterfly Gardens.
