Our beloved brother, Paul Laurence Rosenbaum, from the New Hope Church community in Maryland, ascended to the Spirit World peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Paul met our True Parents and joined the Unification Church 44 years ago, in December of 1973. Throughout the years, Paul remained involved and always worked and volunteered to support God's Providence. His great passion was always for the arts. A passion he bequeathed to his four children. In recent years, Paul struggled with multiple health and personal issues, but despite his challenges, he remained faithful and committed, and never wavered in his love of God and True Parents.
Paul is survived by his wife Michele and his children Joshua, Raïssa, Korey, and Jacob.
Let us join together and support Paul's family, and pray for his victorious transition to a glorious new life in the spiritual world near our True Father in Heaven.

Paul Laurence Rosenbaum was born in Manhattan, New York on February 20, 1952.
Paul spent his childhood living with his parents, Richard and Muriel and his sisters, Lisa and Margaret, in Flushing, Queens. As a young boy, Paul enjoyed attending movies, adding to his record collection, and attending sleep-away camp every summer.
From a very young age, Paul’s passion for art was apparent. As a teen, he applied and was accepted into the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in the upper west side of Manhattan, New York. Paul cherished his time spent at LaGuardia, a school that has nurtured and graduated many well-known artistic talents.
Upon graduating from high school, Paul left New York to attend the Philadelphia College of Art (formally PCA, currently the University of the Arts) where he studied drawing and Photography. Paul also spent a semester at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) where he took a class taught by photographer Harry Callahan. In 1971, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from PCA.
In 1973, Paul was introduced to the Unification Church by his spiritual father, Andre Herring, who was from Holland. They met in front of the New York Public Library. Paul officially joined the Church at Belvedere on December 10, 1973.
In his early years with the church, Paul joined a mobile fundraising team (MFT) that traveled in Texas and throughout the Bible Belt. On MFT, Paul became well known for getting good results by virtue of his great communication skills and lively personality.
Paul was attending the Unification Theological Seminary (UTS) when he was matched with Michele Griva on May 13, 1979. They were Blessed in marriage at Madison Square Garden in 1982. After UTS, Paul juggled various jobs, missions, and responsibilities. He worked with CAUSA in Newport News and in Norfolk, VA, where his wife Michele joined him in 1985.
In 1986, Paul and Michele moved to Maryland, where Paul worked for World & I magazine until late 1990, when he went to Russia on a 40-day mission. After his return from Russia, Paul engaged in several occupations. His main dream, though, was to establish a “New World Renaissance” of art. He also worked extensively with the Jewish Family Federation from 2003-2005.
Paul was always interested in helping out the many providential activities of the church. He volunteered and worked at large conferences, often helping with driving, which is something he loved to do. Most recently, Paul was interested and excited to help initiate a community Music and Arts festival in Baltimore City for underprivileged, but highly talented children with a vision to provide hope and create peace through the arts.
Paul is the proud and loving father of four children, Joshua (b. 1986), Raïssa (b. 1992), Korey (b. 1994), and Jacob (b. 1997). Paul passed his love and talent for the arts onto his children, who are all artists themselves. He was most proud of his children for continuing his legacy of love and his passion for the arts into everything that they do. Through this, he will never be forgotten.
Seonghwa Ceremony
A Seonghwa Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, January 6, at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception and light lunch at the New Hope Family Church at 4801-M Tesla Dr, Melford Complex, Bowie MD 20715

My condolences to all oh his fisical and sipiritual family. He left the earth but he’s going to join to our TF in the Haven, and will still working with joy and help the Providence in the SW and in the heavven. Let us pray for his ascencion. I believe that it’s not easy tohis direct family this kind of separation, but he stil alive in other dimension and stil even care about his family and all of his relatives.

Blessings and love to the family, sorry only just got this sad news. Paul was great friend to me over the years altho we didnt always see eye to eye, no matter, I saw him as a warm and dedicated person of faith and great lover of the arts. I am sorry I never got to meet the family having lived far from him since New York.
