Our beloved second-generation brother, Nathan Hunter, of the New Hope Family Church community, ascended to the spiritual world on Monday, June 12. Nathan had a great love for art, sport, and had many interests and talents. Nathan was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend, who was deeply loved by his family and many friends. He is survived by his parents, his elder brother, David, and numerous extended family members.
Let us all come together and show our love and support for the Hunter family, and pray for Nathan's victorious transition to a glorious new life in the spiritual world, knowing that our True Father and so many saints are waiting for him with hearts open and arms wide.

Nathan Andrew Dana Hunter was born on June 7, 1983 to Richard and Elizabeth Hunter, members of the 1800 couples Blessing. Just before his sixth birthday, the Hunter’s moved from Annandale, VA, to Maryland, first living in Beltsville, where Nathan learned to ride a bike. Several years later, the family moved to the Northridge neighborhood in Bowie, where Nathan made many life-long friends, developed a deep appreciation for art, and entered into a professional career as an electrician. During one job, he was given the opportunity to learn carpentry skills, which he seemed to enjoy. His interests included art, bass fishing, video games, golf, and watching his favorite sports team, the Washington Redskins.
Nathan was a member of the first class of students at New Hope Academy in Hyattsville, Maryland. He later attended schools in Bowie, but the traditional classroom didn’t hold Nathan’s interest. He opted to study for his GED and passed with impressive scores, particularly in science and math. Nathan loved working with his hands. From an early age, he could take one look at the instructions for an origami item, begin folding as if he had committed the instructions to memory, and presto, the crane or frog was created. Complicated diagrams didn’t seem to faze him.
While not particularly interested in organized religion, Nathan was quite the philosopher. In recent years he began studying the Bible, the life of Jesus Christ, numerology, astrology and history. He was drawn to any subject that enhanced his comprehension of intelligent design, major historical figures, and world events. Nathan believed it was important and necessary for everyone to do their own research in order to find their own truth.
In 2007, Nathan happily became a brother-in-law to Mitsuru Kubo. Serving as best man at his brother’s wedding party in Seattle was a high point in his life. Topping that was becoming an uncle to David Hunter II in May 2010 and then to Annalise Hunter in April 2014. Being called Uncle Nate always brought a huge smile to his face. Nathan loved his niece and nephew and he doted on them whenever he had the opportunity. Annalise’s favorite stuffed animal came from Uncle Nate!
Nathan passed peacefully into the spirit world on Monday, June 12, 2017. He is survived by his parents, his elder brother, David, and numerous extended family members. At the time of his passing, Nathan was in a committed relationship with Alexandra Mas. He appreciated getting to know and being welcomed into the Mas family by Alexandra’s parents, Ray and Irma, and her two brothers and their wives.
Nathan will continue to be deeply and greatly loved by his immediate family, a large extended family, and many friends. He will depend on this love on his spiritual journey to help him cultivate a heart of perfect love for all eternity, which is God’s original ideal of creation.
