Mike Alvarado transitioned to the spirit world at 4:21 am on Sunday, October 11, at Mt. Sinai Hospital in the New York City borough of Queens, after experiencing a heart attack. He was 59 years old.

Mike was born in New York City (Metropolitan Hospital) on May 4, 1956. He was the eldest of a family of four brothers and one sister. He attended primary school in New York City. On December 17, 1976, Mike met a Japanese Unificationist missionary named Miyoko near Brooklyn College. He always considered that date to be his spiritual birthday.

Mike became a fulltime member of the Brooklyn Family Church, where he participated in evangelical outreach and fundraising to support the center.

Over the years, Mike involved himself in a variety of activities. He worked at the Tiffany Building on Fifth Avenue at 37th Street, the former home of News World Communications, and held a variety of other jobs as well, most recently as a fire safety director.

When True Father’s autobiography was published, Mike made it his business to visit all the Latin American embassies in New York City, introducing himself as a disciple of Sun Myung Moon’s and presenting the book to the ambassador or their representative. He was very diligent in this effort that brought fruitful results. The consul general of Colombia not only received him well but also urged him on in this effort. Mike was so proud and happy when recalling this mission work.

In 2002, Mike received the Holy Marriage Blessing with Elisa Mewa from Cameroon as participants in the 144,000 Clergy Marriage Blessing. They resided on Roosevelt Island in New York City. Mike was a good husband and father to his adopted children, Einstein, Jimmy and Linda. He was an active member of the Manhattan Family Church under the pastorship of Rev. Tanya Edwards.

He is survived by his wife, Elisa; their three children, Einstein, Jimmy and Linda; his three brothers, Edgar, Pierre and Keith; his sister, Wilma, and many nephews and nieces.

I do not believe he is dead. He worked for me for a 3 years period. He was involved in the arts. We were never allowed to say good bye to him. I am sorry but I will continue looking until I find the truth. He was engaged to marry a lady from Delawere state.
SorryVery sorry but we are going to find the truth.
