Matthew Kosim was born on June 1, 1960 in a rural community in Poland. He was the first son in his family.
As a young man, Matthew studied photography and worked at a television station in Poland. He joined the Unification Movement in 1992 in Austria, while living there with his grandmother. In 1999, he was Blessed in Marriage with Teresa Brooks in Korea and they moved to America to start their family.
Matthew’s family settled in Chicago where he worked as a photographer and videographer at a Korean newspaper company from 1999 to 2012. He worked during the past few years at O’Hare Airport.
As a photographer, Matthew attended many church events and took many historic photographs. He was happy that he could dedicate his passion and his talents to God’s providence.
Matthew passed to the spiritual world on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at his home in Mt. Prospect, IL due to a heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Teresa and 13 year-old son, Ryo.
Seonghwa Service
The Seonghwa Service for Matthew will be held on Monday, October 3 at 7:00 PM at the Morizzo Funeral Home, 2550 Hassell Rd., Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM.
A Won Jeon Service will be held on Tuesday, October 4 beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with a car procession to the Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington, Illinois.
Flowers can be sent directly to the funeral home.
