Following is a testimony by Rev. Chris Hempowicz .

Marcelle Stephen ascended to the spirit world on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at home after battling diabetes, heart disease, and kidney failure.

Born in Georgetown, Guyana, she joined the Unification movement at 16 years of age. She moved to the United States where she served True Parents at Belvedere, NY for many years. She also lived in Washington, D.C. before moving to Worcester, MA.

Marcelle was a vibrant, loving, powerful, unique soul who loved God and loved people. She impressed us all with her bravery and courage as she dealt with the difficulties of her illnesses over the years. Because of her long history of illness, she suffered great financial hardship. With this in mind, we have set up a Go Fund Me page in order to help with her funeral expenses.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating here to honor her and support her family at this time. Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Because of her illness, many may not know Marcelle well, but we ask that you come and support her transition.

A few days ago I heard your name, Marcelle. Truly I miss you so much. I didn’t have much communication at Belvedere with you. I wanted to talk with you, but we had different missions at that time.
My sister, Marcelle, I love you!
We will meet someday in the spiritual world.
My sister Marcelle, good journey and have a peaceful stay in heaven.
    Good bye…

I’m so sorry to hear of Marcelle’s passing. I had known her since the 1980’s when the Guayanese family first came to America, though I have not seen her in recent years. She was a truly special and unique person who served True Parents with great devotion and zeal. My condolences to all she has left behind on this physical plane, with the gentle reminder that you all will be reunited soon in the spiritual plane – where no sorrow or pain exists.

I remember Marcelle fondly when I was a young girl living in the Belevedere area. She was a sweet soul with patience for us kids running all over the place. She somehow procured the most beautiful porcelain dolls and would give them to myself, my sisters, and friends when it was our birthday. I remember it being one of the best toys/dolls/gifts I have ever received at the time. It made such an impact on me. I don’t even know why or how she gave use these (they seemed so expensive). But given that most of us grew up with very little means, it brought so much joy and meant a lot. Thank you, Marcelle, for teaching the value of giving, love, and kindness. May you be at peace where you are.
