Kim Roth was born in Orange, New South Wales, Australia. He was educated in Sydney, attending the National Art School and Julian Ashton Art School. He ascended on May 20, 2019. Kim is survived by his wife, Cheryl; their three children, Alan, Jasmine, and Eric; and his sister Tracy DeGeer.
In 1975, Kim joined the Unification Movement in Sydney, Australia. On July 1, 1982, he was Blessed in marriage with his wife Cheryl Steele at MSG in New York City. In 1987 he immigrated to the United States to join his wife. After living in Florida for eight years, Kim, his wife, and three young children moved to Boston, and then to Manchester, New Hampshire, where they lived for 20+ years.
Kim was a working artist and independent art teacher. He was on the Board of Directors for the Manchester Artist Association Art Gallery, and taught classes at various art schools and community centers to students of all ages and skill levels. He also worked as a juror for various shows, including the annual USA Scholastics Art Competition, New Hampshire Division.
His personal artwork has been displayed in galleries and shows in Florida, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. He actively promoted his student’s work by encouraging them to enter shows, as well as participating in exhibits himself, and he has won several awards.
Kim returned to Sydney about five years ago after recovering from triple by-pass heart surgery. He intended to continue teaching but retired early due to hearing loss. He and Cheryl were in the process of creating their retirement plan in Sydney when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer in June of 2018. He bravely took on a difficult course of chemotherapy and radiation hoping to beat the odds. He was deeply saddened by the unsuccessful results, being mostly concerned about his family.
Kim was known for his humor, his genuine kindness,and concern for others, his good advice, his encyclopedic knowledge of art, music and culture, his love for nature, and bragging about his family. He was a great art teacher and art historian. He was also a very spiritual person. He is deeply loved by his family, friends, and students and will be greatly missed.

Kim was joyful, creative, articulate, caring and kind. He and his sister Tracy were precious pioneers of the Australian Unification movement. I will never forget his bright eyes and brilliant smile.
