Our beloved second-generation brother, Edward Abendroth, of the New Hope Family Church community in Bowie, MD, ascended to the Spirit World on Thursday, August 10, in a tragic accident. Edward was the eldest of 5 children, blessed in marriage and a father of two young daughters. Edward was a loving and committed family man and a dear friend to many. He loved board games and the outdoors, activities he loved sharing with his family and friends, who will miss and cherish him with love.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and Diane Abendroth, his wife, Aika, his two daughters, Michela and Margaret, his four brothers, Richard, James, Robert, and John, his Grandmother, and his extended family.
Let us join together in support of Edward's family during this important and special time and pray for his victorious transition to a glorious new life in the spiritual world.

Edward was born on October 12, 1988 in Fairfax, Virginia to Bob and Diane Abendroth; he was the eldest of their 5 sons. His family moved around several times during his childhood, finally settling in Bowie, MD, where he lived from age 11 to 27.
Edward was Blessed in Korea on March 24, 2012, to Julia Aika Becker, originally from Kodiak, Alaska.
In 2016, Edward, his two year old daughter, and his pregnant wife moved to King George, Virginia where he started work as a computer scientist at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.
Edward will be remembered forever as a family man. He cherished time spent with his family, and always pushed them to spend more time together.
Edward’s passing was much too soon and much too sudden. He will be dearly missed by his parents, Bob and Diane Abendroth, his wife, Aika, his two daughters, Michela (age 3) and Margaret (age 1), his four younger brothers, Richard, James, Robert, and John, his Grandmother, his aunts and uncles, his seven cousins, his beloved in-laws, and his close friends.

Seonghwa Ceremony: Friday, August 18 at 11:30 AM at New Hope Family Church, 4801 Tesla Drive suite M, Bowie, MD 20715. A reception will follow the ceremony.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss … it is an unspeakable pain and a sorrow. For the parents Bob and Diane, a wise person once said “it is natural to bury your parents in the ground, but if you must bury your child, you bury them in your heart” and in your heart their presence remains, until seeing them again in this world (in spirit and dreams) and in the next … but for Aika, Edward’s children and his brothers and grandmother and other family members … to think of it is almost too much to bear … I’m afraid none of you will easily get over this, maybe not until meeting again in the next world, although time will help somewhat to assuage the pain. I know God has come and will come and help you all and will never leave your side … May God’s love surround and bless you and your family …

Dearest Bob, Diane, Aika and Family, Words simply cannot express the grief we feel in our hearts and deep sympathy we have for you all. Thank Heaven for the love and support you have been receiving during this first week of your loss, we are thankful that you have our wonderful community surrounding you at this time, and deeply wish we could be there as well. How ironic that we become closest in heart with one another at these sorrowful times, but that is the miracle of love.
