Doris Fritsch Crompton was born August 5, 1955, in Hilsenheim, a village on the Alsatian countryside. The oldest of three children, Doris expressed a precocious spiritual sensitivity and dreamed of being a nun. She excelled at languages and mathematics and left high school with excellent marks. She began her studies at the nearby Université de Strasbourg, but left to pursue a calling with the Unified Family, later to be known as the Unification Church.

During her time with the European church, she travelled throughout the continent, spending time in France and Austria and fundraising and witnessing over the highlands of Scotland. Doris did pioneer missionary work in the stormy seaside town of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, north of the Scottish mainland. In the late seventies she went to South London, and then to the United States, where she crisscrossed Texas and New England over the course of her mission. Throughout her travels, she worked to support world peace and met many people who were touched by her deep-heartedness, her sincerity, and her sense of humor.

In 1981, Doris was matched to Lawrence Crompton, an American church member, and they were Blessed in marriage on July 1, 1982, in the 2,075 couples Blessing in Manhattan. Together they moved to Bayou La Batre, Alabama, to support the ship-building and fisheries initiatives there. Their union bore four children, whom she raised with love and attention, spending hours helping with homework and driving back and forth from schools in Mobile.

In Alabama, Doris supported her community by working with the communal nursery and briefly taught math at Top Garden Academy. She earned her certification as a massage therapist in the early 2000s and became a healer with the Emotion Code, which allowed her to use her compassionate emotional intuition to help people locally and worldwide.

Doris departed from this life on March 18, 2019. She was preceded by her father, Antoine, and leaves her husband Lawrence; children Alexander, Matthew, Sandra, and Jonathan; mother Marie Josephine; siblings Jacky and Michèle; and a host of other relatives and friends to cherish her memory.

The Seonghwa ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Serenity Funeral Home Event Center with the visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m for family and friends.
