Our dear sister Connie Dehen passed away Friday, June 30 in a hospital in Oregon City, Oregon with her husband Fred by her side.

Connie was born in Germany on Oct. 24, 1954. She was raised in a Lutheran family; her father was a minister. She is the youngest of three sisters and graduated from school certified as a teacher.

Connie joined the Unification Movement in Germany in 1975. She served as a missionary in England and then came to the US in 1979 to attend the matching. She and Fred joined the 2075 Couple Blessing.

Prior to settling down and starting her family, Connie served on the MFT and worked in the fish business. She also supported the providence in Russia for a time.

Fred and Connie Dehen have four children, Shineun, Chonmin, Choneun, and Florence and have been living in Fred’s hometown of Portland, Oregon. Connie is a passionate person with “A Fiery Spirit.” Her greatest passion is her family and she loved to record even the smallest event in her many journals. Fred noted that Connie saved every picture and recorded all her life in journals.

I am privileged to have known Connie since December 1992 when our family moved back to my home state. Connie has been a strong supporter of God’s work, and it was a pleasure to see her and her family. For a time she was treasurer for the Sunday School department. When we had meetings, she not only attended, but shared her viewpoints. She loved God, True Parents, her family, and her community. She, Liz, and I worked on the Steering Committee for the first Il Shim program held at our local church. To help plan events and follow up for this program, we met at the Dehen’s home where we were always warmly welcomed. I enjoyed her company and our phone conversations. We miss her in this earthly realm though we look forward to meeting her again in the next. Our prayers are with her family at this time.
