Bruce Edward Johnson was born on April 19, 1960 in New Haven, Connecticut as the first son of Anne Morgan Johnson and Frank Wheeler Johnson. Bruce and his two younger brothers, Donald and Kenneth, were all raised in Milford, Connecticut. After he graduated high school, Bruce moved to Boston to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. About a year later he left college to start working in the Boston area.
In his early 20’s, Bruce met Jinko Watanabe in 1984 who introduced him to the Unification Movement. He and Setsuko Imaoka received the Marriage Blessing in 1989 and were married in Korea.
Bruce and Setusko were blessed with three beautiful children; their eldest is SungIn (Ken) Johnson, their middle is SungMi Johnson, and their youngest is SungShil Johnson.
Bruce loved to sing, be in nature, and meet new people. He was passionate about hearing new ideas and learning about God’s words.
During the early morning of September 7, 2019, Bruce suddenly had a heart attack and departed into the spirit world.
During his time on earth, Bruce touched the lives and hearts of many who met him. Although he may have been misunderstood at times, Bruce always had a heart to do the right thing as a true son on God. May his heart truly be at peace now, beyond the confines of his earthly life.
A Seonghwa Memorial Service will be held for Bruce on Thursday, September 19th at 10AM at Cornerstone Chrisitian Church (349 Wheelers Farm Road Milford, CT 06461).
