The updated Il Shim curriculum now available at familyfed.org/youthministry/ilshim was put together by parents and youth pastors from around the nation, representing a wide range of community sizes and demographics. The main new feature of the Il Shim curriculum is its heavy emphasis on developing the parent-child relationship throughout the course of the program, creating a space for parents and children to build communication skills and discuss important topics of life and faith together.
We hope that the Il Shim program will help participants (and their families!) in these four areas of life:
1. Growing Your Life of Faith by supporting you in creating a unique relationship with God and discovering tools to support that relationship.
2. Deepening Your Understanding of Unificationist Traditions by providing the resources for you to discover the value and significance of aspects of our faith such as True Parents, abstinence before marriage, the Blessing, and living for the sake of others.
3. Developing Your Relationship with your Parents by encouraging opportunities to open communication and deepen trust.
4. Discovering Ways to Get Involved by connecting you to the people who can help you find new ways to serve and get involved in your local community that are inspiring to you.
