Michiko Okubo was born on July 28, 1966, in Tochigo, Japan to Seiji and Sachiko Okubo. She graduated from a two-year college in Chiba, studying Nutrition. When Michiko was twenty-one years old, she met the Holy Spirit Association for World Christianity. In 1992 she was blessed with Kazuyuki Kawasaki as part of 30,000 couples blessing. In 1994 when True Parents send out 1200 missionaries to the world missions, Michiko was selected by True Father to go to Ecuador, South America with a group of 10 Japanese sisters. She loved her mission country and invested herself completely. Her love and commitment to God and Tue Parents were unshakable. She was an excellent missionary and loved by everyone around her.

In 1996, she moved to the United States to fundraise for the Ecuadorian Church with ten other members. After starting a family in New Jersey, Michiko worked in the Kodan Office at the New Yorker Hotel for two years, and then started working at True World Global Headquarters. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2017, after nine long months, battling cancer.

Michiko will always be remembered for her heart of service—especially in preparing food for the Sunday School and the Youth Ministry Program. Members close to her shared that she always loved to serve and stayed behind the scenes. She is survived by her Mother Sachiko Okubo, loving husband Kazuyuki, daughter Noriko, and son Norikazu, as well as her five wonderful siblings.
