Following is a testimony by Yuri Hosoya.

family and friends

Kento Hosoya was conceived in Atlanta, Georgia and was born in Inagi City, Tokyo on March 11, 2008. He went to Suge Kindergarten for three years and had just entered elementary school this April. He was hit by a car at a crosswalk on his way home from school on Oct. 17, 2014. Kento suffocated under the car and though his heart was revived, he was in a coma for 39 days before he transitioned to the spirit world on Nov. 24, 2014. Over 600 people joined the Seonghwa Services on Nov. 28 and 29 to bid him goodbye and send him off to the spirit world.

Kento was a very lively boy who always started and ended his days with a sweet smile on his face. His kindergarten teacher used to often comment on how Kento came into the classroom with a big smile on his face every morning. Even those who did not know him in person saw images of him smiling in their prayers, while he was fighting for his life in the hospital. He was gifted in mathematics and could even do difficult conversions from hours to minutes before he entered school. If he was determined to do something, he never stopped until he accomplished it. He didn’t hesitate to make effort to improve his weak points, like practicing sit-ups and floating in water. He loved to sing songs and read books out loud. Kento highly respected his older brother, Koji, and learned how to write Japanese, and Hangul letters, and how to play DS games from him, among many other things. They spent many-a-days playing and fighting over toys, eating and going to school and church, and did everything together. Kento loved his parents and showed special affection for his mother, always wanting to sit and sleep beside her, hold her hand, and never failing to tell her he loved her at least three times a day.

Kento is survived by his parents, Noriyuki and Yuri Hosoya, a 360,000 Blessed Couple (1995 Blessing in Korea), his elder brother Koji, his grandparents and aunt and uncles. Noriyuki and Yuri were missionaries to Antigua and Barbuda from 1996 to 2000, and to Atlanta, Georgia from 2001 to 2007. The family currently resides in Tokyo, Japan. Yuri is the current vice director to the 22nd Tokyo Alliance of WFWP Japan.
