In Memory of Christine Kung(1955 - 2014)

Our beloved Sister, Christine Kung, ascended to the spirit world on Wednesday afternoon, November 26. Her Seonghwa Ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 6 at 83-15 Parsons Blvd. Jamaica, NY 11432 (Phone 718-658-4434). The Viewing will begin at 9am, and the service at 11am. At 1pm, we will drive to the cemetery for the Won Jeon Ceremony.

Christine was born Christine Estella Washburn, and is the eldest of four siblings. She joined the Unification Church in 1973 at the age of 18, after which she traveled and lived in Japan and Korea as part of the IOWC and New Hope Singers. While in Japan, she witnessed to several Unificationists, one of whom received the Marriage Blessing. She was a fundamentalist Unificationist, involving herself with all the providential activities such as the Blessed Wives Workshop, MFT, witnessing on the street, and spending a few years as part of the molding team that helped to restore the molding in the New Yorker Hotel, all in high spirits.She leaves behind her husband of 32 years of marriage, John Kung, one daughter, Diane, and two grandchildren, Taebin and Yubin. Her favorite resort is the Cheong Pyeong Heaven & Earth Training Center; her favorite weekend is a Divine Principle workshop; her favorite people are True Parents; and she looks forward to the Holy Days with great anticipation.
