Annemarie Pankow was born as Annemarie Monihart on November 7, 1949 in a small village in lower Austria. Her parents, Rudolf and Maria, moved the family to Vienna when she was six years old.

Annemarie joined the Unification Church in April, 1973 and a month later moved to the United States as a missionary. She joined the International One World Crusade in support of True Parents’ 32-city tour and 8-city tour in 1974, beginning at Madison Square Garden. She later was able to join the first Global Team to Japan and Korea and support the Yoido Island Rally of 1.2 million people in South Korea.

Later, Annemarie served in France and then returned to America to work with Tongil Enterprises and the New York Church. She was matched with her husband, Scott, in 1979 in the New Yorker Hotel Grand Ballroom and Blessed in the 2075 Couples’ Blessing at Madison Square Garden on July 1, 1982. The same year, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis‎.

On February 2, 1985, Annemarie gave birth to her son, Stirling SungHam Pankow. By 1989, her illness forced her to use a wheel chair. The Pankow family moved to Minnesota in August, 1996 and Annemarie was diagnosed with incurable stage-four breast cancer in September, 2012. She fought a noble fight together with her family until her passing on September 30, 2014
